Get to Know the Rules of Beach Soccer
The Pitch
30 yds wide by 40 yds long (27 m X 36 m approximately)
The Goal
12 ft W X 6 ft H (3.5 m H X 1.8 m H approximately)
The Teams
5 players per side (one goaltender and four out-field players)
Unlimited substitutions during the game
The Match
Three 12 minute periods with two 3 minute intermission between periods 1 and 2
Three minutes of extra time if necessary for OT
Penalty shoot out if necessary for secondary OT
No ties
Fouls
All free-kicks are direct
If the foul is made in the in the offensive half of the team with possession then all players must be behind the ball
Player that is fouled must take the free-kick
Defensive walls not permitted
The Play
No shoes allowed
Put ball in play either by throwing or kicking it
Goalies may only throw the ball when the ball is in their hands
Game restarts – throw ins, corners, goalie restarts must be played in 5 seconds and the opposing team must give at least 5 yards for the restart
There is no off-sides

Four Men’s Division (Competitive) four teams per division (16 teams total)
Four Women’s Division (Competitive) four teams per division (16 teams total)
Two Men’s Division (Recreational) four teams per division (8 teams total)
Two Women’s Division (Recreational) four teams per division (8 teams total)
Four Youth 10 and U teams
Four Youth 11 - 12 teams
Four Youth 13 – 14 teams
Four Youth 15 – 17 teams
Round Robin in each Division, guaranteed three games
