Taras Natyshak
Taras Natyshak is a dynamic and collaborative leader with a proven record of public service, strategic leadership, and community advocacy. For more than a decade, he represented the people of Essex as a Member of Provincial Parliament, where he earned a reputation for his integrity, accessibility, and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of Ontario families.
During his time at Queen’s Park, Taras served in several key roles, including Chair of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, where he worked closely with the Auditor General to enhance government transparency and accountability. He also held multiple critic portfolios—spanning Labour, Infrastructure, Economic Development, Small Business, and Ethics and Accountability—demonstrating both breadth and depth in policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and legislative reform.
Before entering provincial politics, Taras served as Director of Training, Communications, and Government Relations for LiUNA Local 625, where he oversaw safety and skills training programs, community outreach initiatives, and industry partnerships. His efforts helped strengthen workforce readiness, promote equity and inclusion, and advance opportunities for skilled trades in the region.
Deeply committed to his community, Taras has long volunteered with local organizations supporting vulnerable populations, including the Windsor Essex Sexual Assault Crisis Centre, the Ontario Paraplegic Association, and Lakeshore Community Services. His belief in service extends beyond politics—he continues to dedicate his time to causes that build stronger, more compassionate, and sustainable communities.
Fluent in both English and French, Taras is a skilled communicator and natural consensus-builder. His leadership is grounded in respect, collaboration, and a lifelong belief that good governance begins with listening to people. Taras lives in Belle River with his wife Jennifer and children Airika and Drake. They enjoy exploring the outdoors in Essex County and beyond.
